SEAFOOD ENTERPRISES: RENOVATION OF TRADE PROMOTION ACTIVITIES

In the coming time, seafood enterprises are predicted to continue to face many difficulties and challenges in the consumption. Therefore, enterprises are required to promote theirs trade promotion activities, images and brands in particular and fisheries in general.

Trade promotion in 3 groups:

In 2018, the fisheries sector will continue to promote trade in 3 groups. Firstly, trade promotion programs in major markets such as America, Europe, Middle East, China will be continued to implement. These programs will be implemented by a partial contribution of participating enterprises and the support from the government budget.

Secondly, the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) will continue to participate in other exhibitions such as Thaifex Food Fair in Thailand, Fisheries and Fisheries Fair in Busan (Korea).

Thirdly, VASEP will implement communication and image promotion for Vietnamese pangasius on communication channels developed by Globally Cool; continue to operate the website www.youreverydayfish.com as an official channel for Vietnamese pangasius promotion; cooperate with the Australian Fisheries Association in promoting the image of Vietnamese seafood, updating information and regulations in this market.

Mr. Trương Đình Hòe –VASEP Secretary General – said that these activities are located in integrated communications strategy. Thereby, it provides practical and positive information in the process of aquaculture to stop the prevent negative information, which affects the prestige of the Vietnamese seafood brand. In addition, VASEP will coordinate closely with the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) to take part in the brand development activities of the Vietnamese food industry; develop brands of shrimp and fish products for export.

Creating Vietnam seafood brand name

According to Mr. Trương Đình Hòe, the objective of the International Cooperation Program 2018 is to strengthen existing relationships and promote relationships with other organizations with the same benefits as VASEP members in order to establish alliances of benefits and promote Vietnamese fisheries sector more broadly. At the same time, we continue to cooperate with foreign organizations to help enterprises promote trade, learn the control policies of export markets.

The Executive Board of VASEP recently agreed with MARD on the project submitted to the Government regarding the specific mechanism to restore the market development fund of the fisheries sector.

In addition, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD), the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will work together to solve problems and propose solutions for trade promotion for aquaculture. In August 2018, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development will launch a program to connect Vietnam agricultural products on VTV1 to Vietnamese counselors and ambassadors abroad.

IN THE COMING TIME, EACH PROJECT THAT VASEP WANTS TO BRING TO THE NATIONAL TRADE PROMOTION PROGRAM MUST BE SPECIFIED FOR SPECIFIC PRIORITY OF THE FISHERY. AFTER 3 YEARS, THE RESULTS OF TRADE PROMOTION WILL BE QUANTIFIED TO TRANSFER TO OTHER PROJECTS.
