VIETNAM FOCUSES ON SALES IN ASIA IN THE CONTEXT OF AMERICA FACING NUMEROUS DIFFICULTIES

“Vietnam’s export of pangasius to neighboring countries increased 56.5% to $46.7 million in the first quarter of 2018 while a sign of increased inspections in the United States makes Vietnam look for other markets.” said the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers.

The association mentioned that the annual increase in pangasius exports to Southeast Asian countries is still low compared to other trades.

Pangasius exports to the US reached $438.2 million in the first quarter, up 18%, despite ongoing trade issues. Exports to Hong Kong reached $101.1 million, up 45%.
